Legal Question in Family Law in New York

If a person has child support arrearage and the child reaches the age of emancipation, how is the payment of the arrears calculated ( referencing the state of NY ). Is it a percentage of gross income \ wages just like regular support? The reason why I ask the question is because when my son hits 21 I will have approx 9000.00 of support payments that are arrears. I currently pay 227. every 2 weeks based on income etc etc. But once he turns 21. Who determines the amount to be paid per pay period?
