Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Personal Property

How binding is a letter, from my lawyer, sent to my ex's lawyer, which is telling my ex husband he has only a certain amount of time to remove his belongings? I was told that if my ex did not pick up his things by this date....that they are mine to do with what I wanted to. My fear is, that I may later be arrested in doing this. I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

Re: Personal Property

What does your attorney say about this?

If you have an attorney representing you, you should expect him to discuss strategy and tactics with you.

If you are dissatisfied with your present attorney, you may wish to consult with other counsel and obtain a second opionion as to the overall case.

Hope this helps.
