Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Personal Property During Divorce Proceeding

At what point EXACTLY during a contested divorce proceeding in NY does the income of one party cease to be considered marital property and begin to be considered personal property? Does this only happen after the divorce is finalized, or does it happen at any point during the divorce proceeding? For example, if one party were unemployed when filing for divorce but became employed before the divorce was finalized, would this new income be considered marital income? Would a new source of income acquired during the divorce proceeding still be considered marital property?
