Legal Question in Family Law in New York

pet removal

my parents are going thru divorce. the dogs are in both of their names. but live at my dads house. the one was a gift to me and the other was for my mother. as of right now my dad has yet to take them to the vet and it has been over a year. and his gf's kids are mean and cruel to the dogs. i wanted to know is it ok to take the dogs out of the home with my moms permission. seeing as one was hers and the other is myne.

If the pets are in any danger of being mistreated you should remove the dogs.
