Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am planning to divorce my wife. We own a house together and three kids. She is now on disability leave for diabetus related illness and will return in 2 months. I plan on giving her the house. Will I be liable to pay the mortgage if I give her custody of the house or because of her current illness will I be obligated to pay the mortgage.
