Police Pension

I found out that my husband of over 20 years is having an affair. He has been retired for 4 years from the nypd.

I know Im entiled to half of everything.

Reguarding his pension, he has full control, he choose to take 100 % and not leave me a % if he died.

What recourse do I have if I divorce him??

This cannot be reversed can it?? Me getting part of it if he died?

You would be entitled to equitable distribution of the pension. You would be entitled to a qualified domestic relations order (QDRO). This is an order directing the pension to divide payment (1 to you, 1 to your husband) when the pension vests.
