going to the precient to meet with a detective
my live in girlfriend made a complaint at the local preceint about an argument we had and showed a scratch and said she wanted an order of protection. A report was made and a picture was taken. she later felt she had overreacted and wanted to drop the complaint over the telephone but the detective said its not that simple. She has to come to the preceint and i also need to come what shoulld i expect.

Expect to be arrested and processed. This will take a number of hours. Have bail money. However, do not hold the money, give it either to lawyer or friend to hold to post later. Have the name and telephone number of an attorney. Do not try to explain to the police what happened - it just will not work.
You should go. It is always worse if the police have to pick you up.

You can expect to be arrested and processed. This is a serious criminal matter, I strongly suggest you get an attorney.
