Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Pre-nuptial agreement

My fiancee and I have been discussing pre-nups. We have an understanding and an agreement of all financial decisions. Our concern: Each of us has undergone a protacted contested divorce. Can the agreement be structured to to assure us of an uncontested divorce, based on either of us requesting it?

Re: Pre-nuptial agreement

In short: yes, the pre-nuptial agreement can be structured so as to assure that any future divorce action between you will be uncontested.

You might well want to use an attorney/mediator (such as myself) to finalize the terms of and draft the pre-nup. Doing so would minimize the costs and the tensions involved in setting up a pre-nuptial agreement between you. If you are interested, I would be happy to answer any questions for you.
