pro bono atty in westchester ny
my friend has an atty through his union who is supposed to be working on his divorce.this is saving him the expense of paying for one since it is nearly impossible for him to afford one bc he has 4 children. the atty has basically done nothing since january. he is impossible to get a return phone call back from. he is concerned bc the atty is doing nothing to help him. does anyone know any attys that do pro bono work for a divorce ?

If he qualifies, he would be able to get a lawyer through the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley 914*949*1305.
If your friend is not indigent however he is going to get what he pays for, which is to say not much.
Divorce is expensive if it is done correctly. A mistake could cost him forever. Now is the time to spend the money. Borrow it if necessary but get it right because he will have to take care of those four kids forever, so it is important that he not get stuck with a support payment that will kill him.
