Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am pro se as in a support violation hearing that i filed for 2 years of unpaid child support. my ex was given a legal aid attorney after 4 months of going back to court with nothing more than excuses (no documentation each time). the attorney has asked for a month to subpoena medical records to prove a disability.

my question: do i have the right since i am representing myself to review the subpoenaed information?

Yes, when you go to court you should ask the Support Magistrate to review the documentation being presented and also request time to review these documents. They might object but you are allowed to review the docs. You will most likely not be allowed to remove them from the court house and not be allowed to make copies but you should be allowed to review them. You might also be able to get an expert to review the docs, at your own expense, to attempt to refute them and the claims of your ex.

You really should get an attorney. You are at a very extreme disadvantage.
