Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Protective order legalities?

I am posting this question for my aunt whos internet was taken away by a judge even though she violated no law

During my divorce I filed an order of protection against my husband due to threats of violence and abuse which even after the divorce is still in place, he then filed one on me and the judge placed restrictions on me that I believe unjust. In it he banned me from going within 50 feet of any establishment which served alcohol (which would include restaurants) although ive never been arrested for any offense involving alcohol nor was alcohol ever a factor in the mariage and also from ever going into any Stewart's store in the state after my ex husband he had me arrested for violating the restraining order because one of my children ran into the store as we were walking past it and when I went to get him my ex husband happened to be inside the store. Also the judge ordered my ex husband to have his internet shut off because he was allowing the younger children to post pictures of themselves on the internet. I do not allow my younger children use of the internet yet he ordered me to shut mine off as well. Is it legal for the judge to place these restrictions on me for things my ex husband was at fault for?

Re: Protective order legalities?

It sounds like a great amount of overreaching by the court. YOu clearly didn't have a lawyer. I would appeal this immediately!

Good Luck.
