Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I have a question about a Q.D.R.O.
I have been divorced since 2000 and my ex is going to retire soon. My divorce agreement states I am entitled to 50% of his pention from Aug. 7,1983 to Dec. 31, 1997,and I don't think his lawyer ever filed aQ.D.R.O. with the NYS Teachers Retirement System. How long should it take to file a Q.D.R.O. and how much should it cost?

Assuming everyone complies, it should be fairly quick. A pension consultant (ex. Lexington Pension Consultant) normally drafts the QDRO. Lexington charges approx. $500.
