Quickie divorce

Is there any way to get a quickie divorce before the marrital accets are divided up? I also have been told that you can't get a divorce in NY if you can't agree on the terms.

An uncontested divorce is the simplest divorce, it requires that all issues of the split be resolved before commencing the action. In NY it can take up to several months before it is final (depending on the county). You should not want to divorce without splitting the assets though because some of the assets may be subject to the Equitable Distribution Laws of NY.
