Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I recently took my 16 year old niece into my home cause she was having problems at home. She went to a shelter where she lived for a month. She left the shelter and she told them she didn't want to go home. Now that she is living with me. My family wants her to move back home and she doesn't wanna go. Can they force her to leave my home.

Yes, the legal parents can force her to move back home. Your only recourse is to file a petition in Family Court for custody. You will have to prove that the legal parents are unfit and that it is in the best interests of the child to remain with you. Be prepared for a very difficult and expensive fight.
