what can they do?
I recently let my 16 yr old go to texas to stay with her boyfriend. somone has sent the child protective sevices after me. can I get into trouble for letting her go? he is not a minor she is. can he get into truble for messing with a minor? my spouse told the cps person that the child was with me and the truth is she was in texas. can my spouse get into trouble for not knowing where she was?

They can charge you with child neglect/abuse.
CPS can contact their counterpart in Texas, have your daughter arrested and brought here.
They rarely do it. A 16 year old can pretty much do what they want to do. Ever tell a 16 year old girl that she has to do something? It's pretty much impossible.
Your spouse should not get into any trouble.
However, I still would try to get her back to New York. You don't know how much trouble she can get into in Texas with her boyfriend, Texas may have a law that having sex with a 16 year old girl by an older boy could be statutory rape.
If all your spouse knows is that she is with you, there should not be a problem.
