relocation

i like to relocate to california with my 3 kids that i have joint custody with my ex who lives in ny. what are my options?

In order to relocate, there must be a showing that the relocation is in the best interests of the children. The reason has to take in to account that the non-custodial parent's access to the child will be limited.

1) Get your ex's permission to relocate.

2) Surrender custody of your children to your ex and relocate alone.

3) Petition the court for changed circumstances, be prepared to show that the relocation is in the children's (not your) best interest.
