Am I responsible for spouses obligations

Husband left me May 2000. I signed for a car loan in 1998 The reg. and title are in my name. He has always paid for the and when he left he took it with him. Now he is behind 2 months in payments and the bank is calling me. I have no address or phone number for him. I signed for the loan because of his credit he defaulted on two other cars and lost them. How do I handle this and also they are calling me for a credit card he opened last yr. Am I responsibile if he did not live with me. I hope to here from you, Thank You, I'm on a fixed income of 900.00 a month is there any leagal help I can get he clears 3000.00 a month state and SS disability.

Since you signed the papers for the car loan you are responsible.

With regard to the credit card, if you did not sign for the credit card, guarantee payment, or not in any way associated with the card other than the fact that your husband's name is on the card you cannot be held responsible.
