Legal Question in Family Law in New York
restraining order
my father has obtained a temporary resraining order against me on the grounds of stalking because i have called him 9 times after he has asked me not to contact him. paternity has never been established because the paternity suite my mother filed in 1980 could not scientifically prove him to be my father. recently i located my family and became aware that my father had an affair on his wife and got my mother pregnant, in which he has persistantly denied all allegations. my sistyer and i took a dna family study that concluded that we share the same x chromasome that was 99.9% conclusive that we share the same biological father. when i reached out to notify my father of the findings he proceided with the restaining order. please let me know my rights and if i am able to get the recignition that i am one of his daughters and have it legally documented on my birth certificat that he is indeed my father.

Re: restraining order
You need to find a family court lawyer who understands paternity, or better yet a lawyer who practices probate and wills law. If you do not know one, you can search the answers here and you can find good lawyers on Avvo.com as well. Your county bar association, or if there is no county Bar Association then the NYS Bar Association can also recommend someone.
Good luck.
