Retirement Plan

I have been divorced from my husband for 12 years. At the conclusion of our divorce proceedings, I was granted entitlement of 50% of his retirement plan. He has been retired for approximately 2 years and unfortunately I am unable to afford the $1000 + that lawyers are asking to help with the paperwork. What other alternatives do I have?

What you are seeking is what is called a QDRO - a qualified domestic relations order -

They are expensive to prepare as each one has to be done separately, taking into account the company rules, federal laws and state laws.

We charge $2,500 to prepare these orders and enforce same.

We can work out an agreement where you could pay us when we obtain the order.
