Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Do we have any rights?

Our daughter has a child with a boyfriend of aprox. 4 years, and another baby on the way. The boyfriend is into alot of drug use and our daughter thinks we are just interfering by telling us that just because the boyfriend uses, with the child in the home, that we have no rights. My husband and I are very afraid that things are getting out of hand. They have threatened us that they will move away and we will never see the grandbaby if we don't stop meddling. Do we have any legal recourse to get the baby out of the home. We are very worried that the boyfriend will get all drugged up and do something stupid. My daughter thinks that she will not be in any trouble, but we feel she is just as guilty by letting this go on in the home. Thank You

Re: Do we have any rights?

You can call the police or social services. If they believe the children are in danger the children will be removed from the home. However the children may end up in foster care as a result.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.
