rights of legal seperation

i am wondering if my rights are the same in a seperation as they are in a divorce?like child support,half of homes worth,half of 401k,etc.

A well drafted separation agreement would cover the equitable distribution of your property, visitation and custody issues, as well as support and maintenance. the only right you would not have, that you would have in a divorce, is while you don't have a divorce judgment, you can't get married. It is constructive for you to see them as identical. In addition, what you negotiate for separation will be your outcome on divorce.
