Rights as Single Mom in NY

My son's father and I have never been married. I am the only one providing for my son and he lives with me. Am i considered to have sole custody or do we have joint custody? What are my rights as a single mom?He doesnt pay any type of child support.

You need to file for sole custody of the child.

You can also file a petition for child support with your petition for custody.
