run out of money

i have been fighting a custody case for over a year i had one lawyer drop my case after paying him 9,000$ because he could not handle the job. i was stuck with forensic bills in excess of 10.000$. then paid my new attorney 7.500$ as a retainer i feel he has churned my funds and now i have run out of money and have a pending civil suit which have frozen all my assets he is asking me to release him from the case. can he do that and do i have to agree to release him.

I am not sure what your case is about. 10,000 in forensic is a lot of money, as is 16,000 in attorney fees. The courts sometimes protect against that kind of thing.

Since you talk of forensic fees, I am assuming you are the wife. There are many organizations that assist women with legal problems and a pro-bono attorney is not difficult to get.

You do not have to release your current attorney, although his work may fall in quality and quantity. He can otherwise arrange to be taken off the case.

My suggestion is to give him the challenge of finding you another attorney or you will contest his petition to be let off the case.
