Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Sale of house

I have been married for 21 years, and my husband and I own the home together. I want to sell, he apparently doesn't. We are not close to a divorce, but I want to sell the house and get the money. How do I do that??

Re: Sale of house

Assuming you are joint owners of the home you will not be able to sell the house without your husband's approval.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.

Re: Sale of house

If you attempt to sell your home, w/o your husband's full and complete consent, you probably will be closer to a divorce, than you know.

Such a move on your part, could be the straw....

Good luck,
