Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Same-sex marriage clarification
I cannot locate the law on same-sex marriage in the New York State Constitution nor the section of Consolidated or Unconsolidated laws. None of the marriage related sections say anything against or for same-sex marriage. Could you please clarify the law for and perhaps provide me with the articles and sections it can be found? Thank you.

Re: Same-sex marriage clarification
There are no laws specifically addressing same-sex marriages in New York. What there are are statutes wich refer to the resposibilities of getting a license to marry and that the applicants be listed as "bride" and "groom" and also directives that the clerk process the application for "persons" applying to marry.
New York also does recognize a right to equal protection under the laws to all its citizens which some interpret as meaning that that all citizens should have equal right to marry whoever they choose.
