separation agreement
When my husband and I sell our house I am contemplating renting a new house nearby by myself and moving there with our 10 year old daughter. I want to tell my husband after the fact because otherwise he will try to interfere with my plans. I am fine with him visiting our daughter or having her visit him. If I go through with this, 1st of all is it legal, and secondly, do we have to eventually write up a separation agreement or is an informal arrangement ok if both parties agree ?

A legal separation agreement spelling out all the rights and responsibilities will be the best solution. When items are not clearly deliniated, expensive litigation usually follows. You may contact my office for a consultation.
