Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Separation and Divorce

My husband and I have been married for 4 years. The house was paid for by me long before we met. We both agree the marriage is over but he refuses to leave the house. We have no children together, and my teenage son from a prior marriage lives in the house. My husband says he is entitled to half of everything. We have nothing in both our names, it is either in his or in mine. The house in in mine and so is the car. My question is how can I get him to leave and is he entitled to half of everything?

Re: Separation and Divorce

This is a very complicated issue. It will depend on your and your husband's contributions to the household, income, etc.

You might want to consult a lawyer.
