Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Separation/Divorce

I've been married 3 yrs. I've been separated for the last 2 months. My wife paid for our house and took out a loan. My name could not be put on the deed due to financail problems. the loan and house are in her name alone. She still lives there. I'm renting .

Am I leagally reponsible to pay for this house or make partcial payments ?

Even if the house and debt is in her name alone, it still is deemed marital property. Therefore, you (together with your wife) are responsible to pay the debt and not waste the asset.
