Legal Question in Family Law in New York

seperation from my husband

I'm a stay at home mom with 3 children. I haven't worked in 5-1/2yrs. Now if I want to seperate from my husband, what rights do I have? Since I maintain and run the household , do I or my husband leave the premises. What rights do I have? He works full time. I can not afford anything. Please give me information.

Re: seperation from my husband

You need to consult with an experienced divorce attorney as soon as possible. Once you commence an action or proceeding, you may be able to get an order allowing you to remain in the marital residence, providing for temporary maintenance/support and/or for your husband to pay legal fees as litigation proceeds. Feel free to call my office to discuss this further.
