I need to serve divorce papers to my husband in austraila

I am fileing the divorce in New York

Can you please let me know if there is a special way thay need to be served

I am getting a agency there to serve the papers

The summons for divorce needs to be personally served on him. They also need to comply with all other service laws according to the laws of Australia.

Incorrect answer above. Matrimonial papers need to be personally served on the defendant. You must get an Affidavit of Service, in a form approved by NY, from the server, and the affidavit must be notarized at a US Embassy or Consulate in Australia.
