Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I have been served a summons for divorce from my wife. If there is no monetary demands on the summons can my wife ask for compensation later?

Generally no. But be careful about what the summons says, and about what you are being asked to sign. Might be a good idea to consult an attorney before you sign anything.

The first answer isn't necessarily correct. Under some circumstances there can be an amended summons and complaint.
