Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I think I was served today.. But the person never handed me the papers, she tried to push it to me. But I never gave me the papers, then I refused to take them. so she just threw it, My question is am I served because it never touched me and I never touch it??

It's likely that a judge would find that you were served and should now be preparing your response to whatever the papers contained.

You will be considered to have been served. You are not required to accept the papers. So long as the process server can state that the papers were left in your vicinity and you identified yourself or were able to be identified by a picture then you have been served.
