Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Serving Papers

Today I found a petition from family court under my door. These papers are addressed to my son who has custody of his daughter for 4yrs.They are from the mother of the child who has a long history of drug use and child neglect. My son does not live with with me and the mother of the child knows this to be true.I do not know where he is living. Now I found these papers under my door today the 21st of August. My question to you is,what happens now when she goes into court and says she served these papers, which is a lie,I am not my son and in reality they were not served to any one.Thank You

Re: Serving Papers

The court never acquired jurisdiciton over your son. However, if you know where he is you should give him notice of the case.
