Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I share custody or my 7 year old with his father. I am the custodial parent. I am engaged to get married and I am pregnant as well. I want to move out of state to where my fiance is, this is where his job and house are. My son's father is a firefighter, he works varied shifts. He works 3 days on, 2 days off, 3 nights on 3 days off, 3 days on..etc...Having a set visitation schedule over the past 7 years has been a nightmare for me. What my question is, is what is the possibility that I could get full custody of my son to move out of state?

This is the type of question that you should ask a family law attorney -in private. Shared custodial does not mean that you are prevented from moving out-of-state. Visitation arrangements can be privately made as long as the non-custodial parent is cooperative. It may also help if you were to marry the expectant father before the child is born.
