Single Mom & passport

I am a single mom of an 8y/o son. Dad is MIA, pretty much my son's whole life.How can I get my son a legal passport for vacation without Dad having to sign.

You have to go to Family Court and file a Peition for Sole Custody and include that you need a passport for your son.
