Legal Question in Family Law in New York
My sister is an American citizen who is married to a UN employee who is a German Citizen. They have two children (5 & &), both American citizens. The husband is seeking a divorce and my sister needs legal assistance to understand what rights she has under New York law when married to a foreigner. How long is he obligated to financially support the kids?

His obligation is unchanged by virtue of his citizenship. He is obligated to support the children until they are 21 (unless they're in college when they reach 21, in which case it can be extended) or are emancipated.

Under NY law he is obligated to support the children until the age of 21.
