Legal Question in Family Law in New York
my situation is out of hand, please help
My ex-fiance brought my daughter to NY from Los Angeles in July, 2000 and I followed Oct 2 after I made some more $$ working. While I was still out there I sent him almost $1000 to get us a place & get us set up. When I got here he didn't have any of the money and also ended up spending the $500 I brought with me. The whole time we were living at his mom's house. In November we finally got our own place (I had to borrow 1/2 the move in from my dad). About a week later he broke up with me & I found out he has had a girlfriend for a few months. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WE HAVE A 2 YR OLD DAUGHTER AND ANOTHER BABY DUE IN FEBRUARY. I JUST STARTED A PART TIME JOB & HE WORKS ON-AGAIN OFF-AGAIN. HE IS MINIMUM HELP WITH ANYTHING HE DOES AND ENJOYS MAKING MY LIFE MISREABLE. His mom & I got into an argument yesterday & she started trying to fight me in my own house when I had my baby. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS A GOOD ENVIRONMENT FOR HER, THE NEW BABY OR MYSELF. A main question I have is, what legal right do I have to go back to LA with my daughter. Can I leave & take her with me or what steps do I have to take. What else can I do in this situation. Do I need to hire an attorney? PLEASE HELP
