Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Slimmy Deadbeat

I just found out that my son's father quit his job as a NYC Police Officer in order to not pay support. there are 2 orders against him mine and another woman who lives in GA. He said he quit because she was harrasing him at work. I say bull.

What can happen now since there is a vaild order of support and he has currently missed one payment for this month(July).

Can you "legally" quit a job when you are ordered by the court to pay support?

Re: Slimmy Deadbeat

His obligation to pay support continues and arrears will accrue. If he misses a couple of payments, seek to have him held in contempt; he can go to prison.
