Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my son is going off to college next year, i was wondering if more finacial aide is given to a parent or child if parents are legally separated. we now reside in ny but i most likely will be moving to florida. my son will be attending a florida college in 2011

Financial aide considers the income and expenses of the parents. If the parents are legally separated or divorced, the disposal income would decrease. For example, instead of one rent payment, the parents would have two, if separated.

Also, if you move to Florida and he goes to a public college, the tuition would decrease.
