Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My son's father is denying paternity of our son. I want to get a paternity test but i can't afford one.. Can the courts petition him and give him one for free

Yes. You would petition the court for an Order of Filiation. On the return date the Court will order the father to undergo a paternity test.
