Legal Question in Family Law in New York

If my sons father sees my son 1 a week and once every other Saturday and if he took me to court to get weekends or overnights will he get it that easily? Because my son is not familar with his dads surrounding because he isnt involved in his life that much really hardly. Is there anything I can do to stop it?
