Legal Question in Family Law in New York
My spouse and I live in New York state and are thinking of getting a separation. For financial reasons, can we still live in the same house and still obtain the separation?

There are circumstances which will allow for what you desire.Separate bedrooms, separate parts of the house,no cohabitation at all.No sex,etc.

You should establish the parameters of your "separated relationship" by having an attorney prepare your Separation Agreement, which will be helpful in avoiding confusion and disagreement. The Agreement can establish (for the world) your money & living arrangements as well as,. provide the groundwork for eventual divorce
