How do I start I child support suit against the father?

I want to know what are the procedures to starting a child support custody suit against a father who is negligent. Also he is a member of the united states army.

Just because a father is in the military does not give him the right to waive his child support duty.

In New York, an individual may go to the "intake" room located at the local Family Court. An individual will take the necessary information and will commence the action on your behalf. It is free of charge. Make sure to tell the individual at the intake office that the father is in the military.
