Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I started my divorce in 2007 papers was served to my husband in 2007 and he has not responded already have my index number my question is will I have to starte over the whole thing after waiting so long and if I don't how long will it take to desolve this divorce.

Is this an uncontested divorce? In other words, will your husband sign papers neither admitting nor denying the allegations in the complaint. If yes, you do not have to start over. Instead, proceed with the uncontested divorce.
