Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Statue of Limitations on Spousal Support

Hello

I was divorced 3 years ago in NYS. My ex-husband agreed to pay me $30,000 (for lost financial equity which he lost due to negligence) over a 10 year period. Because he was only working sporadically and owned nothing in his name (house, car) I did not pursue. I have just found that he has opened a business in his name and I would now like to receive this money. Is there a time limit? What can I do legally?

You are within the statute of limitations. Strike while the anvil is hot.
