how is c.s calculated in the state of ny?and how often can the custodial parent ask for a modification of c.s?can a lawyer represent me even if i'm not in the same state as the custodial parent??

CS depends on the number of children and the combined income of the parents. There is alot of information on the web. Modifications to CS can be requested anytime there is a change in financial circumstances, up or down (of either party). Yes, an atty can represent you in NY.

Child support is calculated on the basis of gross income, the number of children and other factors. For one child, the baseline is 17% of the first $80,000 of an adjusted gross combined parental income. Also, the non-custodial parent must pay a proportionate share of unreimbursed medical expenses.
