i hope someone can answer this question...can the court acknowledge paternity if i refuse to sign??

Yes, the Court can enter a Judgment of Paternity, without your signature or verbal admission, after testimony of the Petitioner (the child's mother)alone; and after Court Ordered blood or DNA testing, if you are subject to the Court's jurisdiction.

You can lose by not showing up. That would create a 'default'. You must offer an answer to the mother's claim.

Go to the court and write down that you deny being the father and have that put in the file. Make a copy and get it 'stamped' as a receipt.

Then show up for any court dates/meetings that are set.

Yes, your refusal to appear in court would allow the court to find that you are the father on your default. You are entitled to DNA testing - you should demand to have the testing done because, if you don't, you will end up paying child support
