Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Can I be sued for ruining a marriage?

I live in PA. 5 years ago a I meet a married man from NY. We fell in love. He found (and I saw) a report filed with the NY State Police against me for ''ruining his marriage'' that his wife filed. I have never been contacted by them about this. She threats, if he divorces her, she will sue me for everything I have because I ruined her marriage.( It was doomed before me.) Can she do this and win? Please answer.

Re: Can I be sued for ruining a marriage?

There is no such legal action as "alienaton of affections" in NY State. Thus, she could not sue you in NY. I do not know the law in PA or whether she has jurisdiction to sue you in PA (where did the affair occur??). Check with a PA attorney for the answer to those questions. If the law in PA is the same as in NY, you have no problems.
