Supervised Visitation
I am the mother of a 4 month old little girl. Her father has been in and out since she has been born. Currently he has not seen her in over a month and the last time she was at his house for 2 hours she came home stinking like smoke. On other visits he has smelled strongly of alchohol, on more than one occasion. He has had 4 arrests for DWI, although I don't know what he has been convicted of and has spent time in rehab for crack/cocaine abuse, and failed out for not passing a drug test. We go to court in a week and I think he is going to try to fight me for overnight visits, I want his visits supervised because I feel she is not safe left alone with him, especially being so young. Am I out of line to request supervised visits and do you think a judge/law guardian will agree with me?

Not at all. If these allegations have merit, then supervised visits should be explored. However, there is no way to give a definitive answer without more facts.
