Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Support Modification
I brought a hearing to family court in New York to have my daughter removed from my support obligation to my ex-wife. My daughter is 19 years old, works full-time and recently purchased an $8000 vehicle on her own without a co-signer. Although she still lives at home with her mother, I believe she should be considered emancipated. She makes approximately $560 a week before taxes. She also works a part-time job as a coach at a local high school. Would you believe the court would find her emancipated?
